Orthopedic Infections

Orthopedic surgery is a type of surgery that deals with problems with the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine problems, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, cancers, and congenital abnormalities with both surgical and nonsurgical methods.

These infections can arise on their own, but they are more commonly a consequence of surgery, particularly joint replacement operations.
